We know choosing support is a big step, and it’s natural to have questions. This page isn’t about rules or small print — it’s about being honest with you. Here are the “why’s” that matter most, and our answers to each.
Because men are often the least likely to reach out for support. Cultural expectations around strength, silence, or “just coping” mean many men delay asking for help until crisis point. Pivot is designed to break that pattern — giving men a space that feels safe, straightforward, and free from judgment. We are trying to remove as many barriers as we can that puts men off accessing help
“Support designed for men, without judgment.”
Because Pivot offers something different. Free groups like AA or SMART are powerful communities, but many men don’t feel comfortable in those settings. Pivot is designed as a private, structured, and personalised service — delivered through a secure app, with access to tools, meetings, and community spaces available 24/7.
Your membership helps us provide trained facilitators, high-quality resources, and a safe, consistent environment you can trust. It also keeps the service sustainable, so it’s always here when you’re ready
"Your recovery deserves more than a drop-in”
Because your safety comes first. We welcome all men, but we must make sure the support we offer is right for you. Sometimes a clinical detox is the safest first step — if that’s the case, we’ll guide you there and always welcome you back.
"Your safety comes first — always"
Because the two are deeply connected. Men are less likely to seek help for mental health, yet more likely to die by suicide. Drugs and alcohol often sit at the centre of that risk. Pivot addresses both — helping men reflect on their use and the emotions beneath it, reducing risk and building healthier lives.
"Supporting men means tackling both mental health and substance use"
